Improvement of economic security management of food industry enterprises in the context of strengthening the national economy

The article presents a comprehensive study of the theoretical, methodological, and applied aspects of economic security management for food industry enterprises in the context of modern transformations of the national economy, globalization processes, the strengthening of the competitive environment, and the increasing risks to the functioning of business entities. It is substantiated that the economic security of food industry enterprises is not only an internal element of their stable functioning but also an important component of national economic security, since it directly affects the state’s food independence, social stability, and the country’s economic stability. The essence of enterprise economic security, as an integrated system combining financial, production, resource, innovation, personnel, and environmental components that function in close relationship and interdependence, is revealed. It has been established that, in the context of sustainable development, the ecological component of economic security is particularly important, as it determines enterprises’ ability to minimize environmental harm and ensure the rational use of natural resources. It has been proven that effective management of economic security requires a systematic approach that accounts for both the enterprise’s internal resources and the external environment’s influence. The article analyzes modern approaches to managing the economic security of food industry enterprises, particularly the concept of adaptive risk management, which involves timely identification of threats, assessment of their impact, and development of effective management decisions in conditions of uncertainty. It has been determined that modern business conditions require a transition from reactive to proactive management models focused on risk prevention and the formation of long-term competitive advantages of enterprises. The analysis of the main threats to the economic security of food industry enterprises was carried out, among which the instability of raw material prices, disruptions to logistics chains, reductions in effective demand, technological backwardness, limited investment resources, and the increased influence of global economic and geopolitical factors stand out. It was established that a significant part of the industry’s enterprises operate under conditions of increased risk, necessitating the improvement of existing mechanisms for managing economic security.
