Financial Architecture of Defense Expenditures and Investment Strategies of Defense Industrial Companies in the Context of Military Challenges

This study examines the financial architecture of defense spending and the investment strategies of the defense industry within the modern global economy, specifically addressing the onset of a "new cycle of rearmament." By reevaluating military expenditure as a strategic investment asset rather than a fiscal burden, the research identifies effective financing mechanisms and justifies strategic models for how leading defense companies adapt to systemic military challenges. A central theme of the analysis is the integration of the global defense industry into the Ukrainian economy, utilizing a methodological basis that combines systematic analysis, synthesis, and institutional monitoring with statistical grouping. By reviewing the financial reports of major corporations such as Rheinmetall, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman alongside data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the study highlights a paradigm shift toward forced capacity expansion and localized production. These strategies, particularly the establishment of joint ventures under martial law, help integrate national defense sectors into global value chains, thereby bolstering both economic stability and state defense capabilities. The interdisciplinary approach provides practical value for optimizing state financial policy and improving the investment attractiveness of the defense sector. Ultimately, the work suggests that global defense has moved beyond "peacetime production" toward a model of existential significance, offering a fresh perspective on a resource management paradigm where security spending is defined as one of the key factors of economic development.
