The Role of University Economic Education in the Transformational Process in Ukraine
Анотація
After the collapse of the so-called socialist camp, which happened in the last decade of the 20th century, many European countries including Ukraine chose the path of market transformation of the economy. Representatives of the Ukrainian political elite and domestic economists were naive to think that the country with good prerequisites of rapid reformation would be able to overcome the transition process in such a short time without significant social and economic losses. However, practically none of the postsocialistic countries managed to realize such optimistic expectations. Many of them had been experiencing a decrease in output for a long time. For Ukraine, it finally reached more than 50 percent of the GDP (see Table 1).
