COMPETITIVENESS OF UKRAINE’S INNOVATIVE POTENTIAL UNDER THE IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION PROCESSES

The article considers the competitiveness of Ukraine's innovative potential and determines the impact of globalization processes on the level of its formation and use.Creating a unified globalized world, increasing pace of scientific and technological progress and development of the latest information technologies have led to a change in the main factor of economic growth of the country from its resource component to the innovative one, which is manifested in the creation of the latest knowledge, technologies and high-tech products.In such circumstances, competitiveness of a country, and therefore the place it occupies in the globalized world, depends on its innovative potential, namely the country's susceptibility to innovation, pursuing active innovation activities, ability to generate and innovate in a timely manner.It is determined that in the structure of domestic exports the largest share is the production of a small level of processing with low added value, which causes additional threats to remain on the periphery of the world economy and to entail technological dependence on the developed countries of the world.The priority of innovative development of the economy has been proved, which should be constantly ensured by a set of consistent measures for the human capital development, stimulation of the R&D industry, development of innovative infrastructure, formation and support of efficient mechanisms for production, dissemination and consumption of innovations.It is determined that such measures as development of a clear and effective strategy of country's innovative development in the conditions of globalization, formation of active innovative activity in the state at all levels (micro, local, meso and macro levels), increase of financing research works and innovation through public funds, motivating employees to build upto-date knowledge and advanced technologies, promoting and disseminating innovative activity among young people are of the greatest importance and urgency.The necessity to promote at the state level the enhancement of innovative potential and increase the level of its use, to improve the efficiency of innovation activity, to stimulate the population and economic entities to increase innovation activity, to reorient the innovation production system to consumer demand is substantiated.
