The period of extensive communist construction is marked by the rapid development of our country's productive forces. Fundamentally altering the organization of production, technological progress turns physical labor more and more into intellectual activity. The growing specialization of machines and implements produces a new division of labor which requires of the worker a knowledge and skill in a variety of specialities and trades. With the concentration of specialized operations and the worker's facility in diverse tasks he "increasingly becomes a performer not of manual, physical labor, but an organizer, adjuster, controller, supervisor of processes done by machines." (1)
