STRENGTHENING AGRIBUSINESS RESILIENCE THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION STRATEGIES
Анотація
The article emphasizes the critical importance of a comprehensive approach to developing an agribusiness adaptation strategy in response to climate change. A systematic analysis was conducted of current climate trends, agricultural practices, and existing adaptation strategies at the European level. Key factors determining the vulnerability of the agricultural sector were identified, including the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, unstable and uneven precipitation patterns, soil degradation, fluctuations in crop yields, and economic instability of enterprises. It is argued that an effective adaptation strategy should be based on an integrated approach, including risk and vulnerability assessments at the enterprise and regional levels, the implementation of climate-smart and resource-efficient technologies, the adoption of innovative solutions in production, and the establishment of governmental and local support mechanisms. Particular attention is given to the combination of technological, financial, and educational instruments to ensure the agricultural sector’s preparedness for climate-related challenges. Based on the research findings, specific practical recommendations for agribusiness adaptation to climate transformation were formulated: the development of integrated national and regional adaptation plans, the promotion of innovation in agriculture, the implementation of early warning and climate risk monitoring systems, and the enhancement of cooperation among governmental authorities, research institutions, and the private sector. It is emphasized that implementing the proposed measures will reduce agribusiness vulnerability to climate transformation impacts, ensure production stability, and enhance the competitiveness and resilience of the agricultural sector. The results provide a scientific and practical basis for developing adaptation strategies at the enterprise and regional levels, enabling more effective responses to climate change and ensuring the long-term sustainable development of the sector, taking into account economic, environmental, and social aspects.
