Information Provision of Assessment of Achievements in The Decent Work in Ukraine using Microdata

Decent work and economic growth are the eighth sustainable development goals constantly experiencing global challenges. The assessment of achievements in the field of decent work is an essential indicator of the development of each country and the basis for making decision in employment policy. However, such assessments face several informational and methodological problems: forming the list of indicators, the possibility of obtaining them in each country systematically, their processing. This problem is particularly acute in Ukraine due to the scarcity of statistical databases on the regional labor market. This study offers a methodical solution to this problem by combining data from labor force surveys, other official data, and microdata processing of these surveys. In this way, a system of information provision for evaluating the achievements of decent work is created. It makes it possible to form indicators that more deeply reproduce progress in decent work: decent working hours, opportunities to combine work and leisure, decent pay, etc. Using exploratory factor analysis (principal components) allows identifying the main problems in the field of decent work in Ukraine, which are the presence of deprivations in the labor market (informal employment, insufficient remuneration), opportunities for economic activity, and gender disparity.
