This article examines the impact of China-US trade changes (2018)(2019)(2020)(2021)(2022)(2023) on the global industrial chain and the strategic responses of Chinese companies, considering a potential new tariff war in 2025.The research is based on statistical analysis of trade and production data from 2018 to 2023, allowing the identification of structural shifts in the global industrial chain.Escalating U.S. tariffs have driven a restructuring of supply chains, with production partly relocating from China to Southeast and South Asia, reshaping global manufacturing. While labor-intensive processes have moved abroad, high-value manufacturing largely remains in China, reflecting geopolitical competition and U.S. efforts to build a "trusted supply chain" independent of China.Chinese firms, facing rising costs, technological barriers, and limited market access, have responded through market diversification, technological innovation, supply chain optimization, brand enhancement, and deeper international cooperation.Case studies such as Huawei's semiconductor push and Haier's localization in Southeast Asia show adaptation strategies.Technological innovation, supported by increased R&D, has helped overcome restrictions and secure competitiveness, while supply chain optimization has reduced costs and improved efficiency. The study highlights diversification into new regions, products, and customers to reduce reliance on any single market. It stresses that ongoing adjustment is essential as global trade evolves.Shifting Sino-US trade dynamics have forced major 8(18) 2025 929 supply chain adjustments and offer lessons on how Chinese enterprises can remain competitive through innovation, diversification, and cooperation in a fragmented global market.Additional evidence indicates that relocation is selective rather than wholesale: assembly and low-margin tasks migrate, while core design, tooling, testing, and process control stay clustered in China. The United States promotes so-called trusted supply chains, and firms hedge by building parallel networks across Southeast and South Asia.To remain resilient, companies continually rebalance capacity, redesign bills of materials, deepen vendor qualification, and invest in compliance, logistics, and digital operations dashboards. These steps help offset shocks and preserve growth.
