ECONOMIC COMPLEX OF LVIV OBLAST: GEOSPATIAL FEATURES OF DEVELOPMENT AS OF 2020

Анотація

The features of the development of the economy of Lviv oblast as of 2020 are analyzed. It is emphasized that the advantage of Lviv oblast is its favorable economic and geographical location, developed transport and customs infrastructure. It is noted that as of 2020, against the background of Ukraine, the oblast is characterized by high indicators of the absolute number of employed population, disposable income, gross regional product, volume of construction products produced and housing commissioned, exports and imports of goods, exports of services; has average unemployment rates; is characterized by a reduction in the number of labor force. The structure of Lviv oblast's industry is dominated by manufacturing. Most manufacturing enterprises are located in the oblast center, Lviv, and in old industrial districts. It is determined that the polarization of the development of Lviv oblast (2020) is caused by the contrast between the economic development of Lviv city and depressed (Sokal and Zhydachiv rayons) and and with low economic development (Skole, Turka, Starosambir, Mostyske, Kamianka-Buzka rayons) areas. In order to overcome polarization and promote harmonious development of the territories, three industry clusters were launched in the oblast: IT, tourism, woodworking and furniture production.
