MANAGERIAL LEADERSHIP QUALITIES AS A DETERMINANT OF CONFLICT MANAGEMENT IN THE MODERN DIGITAL AND BEHAVIORAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT
Анотація
The article explores the influence of managerial leadership qualities on the effectiveness of conflict management within the context of business digitalization and the growing significance of behavioral economics. The study emphasizes that digital transformation fundamentally changes the nature of communication, cooperation, and decision-making in organizations. Remote and hybrid work models, the absence of nonverbal signals, information overload, and cross-cultural differences have created new sources of tension and misunderstanding. These changes require leaders to apply new approaches to conflict resolution that combine classical management strategies with modern digital tools. Digital instruments such as CRM systems, communication platforms (Slack, Microsoft Teams), project management software (Asana, Trello, Jira), and online mediation or feedback platforms are shown to enhance transparency, speed, and efficiency in managing conflicts. The paper highlights that the integration of these technologies with behavioral principles – particularly the nudge theory and framing effects – helps shape constructive team behavior, maintain motivation, and prevent escalation. Behavioral economics provides leaders with a deeper understanding of human decision-making under stress, emotion, and uncertainty. By applying behavioral insights, managers can design reward systems, feedback processes, and communication frameworks that align with employees’ psychological needs, thereby reducing workplace conflicts and improving engagement. A comparative analysis of traditional and digital leadership qualities demonstrates that modern leaders must combine emotional intelligence, analytical thinking, adaptability, and moral integrity with technical competencies and data-driven decision-making. The article proposes a typology of digital leadership competencies (e-skills), including technological literacy, flexibility, empathy, ethical awareness, and the ability to maintain trust and cooperation in virtual environments. The practical value of the research lies in developing recommendations for integrating digital tools and behavioral insights into human resource management and conflict prevention systems. The results suggest that organizations capable of aligning leadership development with digital transformation and behavioral understanding gain strategic advantages through higher productivity, innovation, and team resilience.
