The Impact of State Support on the Economic Performance of Companies ICT Sector

The article analyzes the current state of the ICT sector in the example of Moldova and Romania. The general trend of indicators of the ICT sector of these countries was studied: direct foreign investment in the sector and the share of ICT companies’ participation in creating the gross domestic product. The size of profits and revenues of this sector are analyzed both for the segment and individual units. The options for implementing the state policy to stimulate the entry and development of international ICT companies into the markets of countries are considered. Tax policy mediated by tax incentives and special regimes is an opportunity to influence the sector’s economic performance. It was used a regression-correlation analysis of the impact of tax incentives on the revenue of an ICT company. The average cost reduction of an international company in the ICT sector was determined by the special conditions of tax policy at the state level. Possible policy elements for implementation by countries wishing to attract international ICT companies are presented.
