Green financing of agribusiness in the context of Ukraine's European integration processes

Анотація

This article examines the impact of European integration processes on the development of green financing for Ukraine’s agribusiness sector amid increasingly stringent environmental requirements. The importance of such financing for supporting the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, improving resource efficiency, and introducing innovative technologies is substantiated. The role of institutional changes and European standards in creating a favorable environment for attracting investments in environmentally oriented areas of development is identified. The main financial instruments are identified, including market-based, banking, budgetary-fiscal, institutional, and blended finance instruments, and their significance for the implementation of environmental projects in the agricultural sector is characterized. The current state of green finance development in Ukraine is assessed, and key challenges are identified, including limited access to long-term financial resources, high investment risks, imperfect regulatory frameworks, and insufficient awareness among economic entities. Directions for the development of green financing for agribusiness in the context of European integration are substantiated, which include harmonizing legislation with European standards, developing financial infrastructure, increasing transparency, and integrating ESG approaches. It is demonstrated that the intensification of green financing will contribute to improving the efficiency of the agricultural sector, its environmental sustainability, and Ukraine’s integration into the European economic space.
