The article explores the psychological and pedagogical principles of developing professional qualities in future managers under the conditions of digital transformation and the widespread integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into management processes. It is emphasized that the rapid advancement of automation technologies, decision-making algorithms, neural networks, and big data fundamentally changes the essence of managerial activity. In this context, professional success depends not only on technical knowledge but also on the formation of personal competencies that cannot be delegated to machines. Particular attention is given to two dominant components of managerial readiness: motivational orientation and predictive competence. The study demonstrates that these qualities gain significant relevance in the AI era, as they determine a future manager’s ability to adapt effectively, initiate change, think strategically, and make informed decisions in uncertain and dynamic digital environments. An analysis of recent publications (up to 2022) reveals that numerous researchers highlight the role of motivation as a core factor of professional development, inner drive, and resilience in the face of technological disruption. In parallel, scholars (such as O. Ovcharuk, L. Sushchenko, V. Morgun) stress the growing need for predictive thinking, which allows managers to foresee risks, assess scenarios, and strategically shape long-term organizational goals. The article presents results from a survey conducted among students of management programs, showing their awareness of the importance of both motivation and prediction. Respondents identified internal motivation as a key force in their learning and career development, and acknowledged the value of building analytical, scenariobased, and critical thinking skills. The necessity of consistent psychological and pedagogical support is substantiated—particularly through the integration of emotional intelligence development, reflective practices, and project-based learning with digital components. The findings of this study can be used in the development of management education programs, professional development courses, and strategies aimed at shaping adaptive and proactive leadership cultures in the context of AI and the digital economy. Key words: artificial intelligence, professional qualities of a manager, motivation, predictive competence, psychological and pedagogical support, digitalization, management education, emotional intelligence.
