Prospects for creating a financial investigation service: Ukrainian realities and foreign experience

In the nearest future, a Financial Intelligence Service should be set up, whose main functions will include detection, suspension, disclosure and pre-trial investigation of crimes against the state’s interest in the economic, financial and tax areas. The peculiarity of the new Service is to change the force approach to comprehensive and analytical - using modern investigative techniques. The service will be completely demilitarized, formed of new people who will receive decent wages and withdrawn from the State Fiscal Service. Consequently, the creation of the Financial Intelligence Service is a qualitatively new standard of law enforcement and fiscal systems that must change the attitude of businesses towards financial police and society as a whole
