Economic Consequences of the Destruction of Ukraine's Infrastructure as a Result of russian Military Aggression

The article discusses the scale of damage to Ukraine's infrastructure and identifies regional characteristics of damage resulting from the full-scale invasion by the russian federation. It has been established that infrastructure facilities have become one of the main targets of the aggressor, leading to unprecedented losses in the social, transport, energy, housing and utilities, and digital spheres. The total amount of direct damage, according to preliminary estimates, is $170 billion, which indicates a deep crisis in the country's infrastructure provision. Hundreds of thousands of residential buildings, thousands of educational and medical facilities, as well as cultural monuments, including UNESCO-listed sites, were destroyed and/or damaged. Energy infrastructure has become the target of deliberate attacks, with direct losses in the energy sector estimated at USD 14.6 billion. The housing and municipal economy has suffered significant damage, with losses in this area amounting to USD 3.5 billion. Digital infrastructure has also been affected, with thousands of mobile phone base stations destroyed and Internet access networks damaged, with total losses estimated at USD 1.2 billion. The article emphasises the need to carry out technical assessments after the end of active hostilities in order to accurately determine the scale of the damage and develop a reconstruction strategy. A SWOT analysis of the economic impact of the destruction of Ukraine's infrastructure as a result of the russian federation's military aggression was carried out, which made it possible to outline possible strategies for reconstruction, obtaining international aid and rebuilding the country's economy.
