Scientific approaches to the formation of environmental education and competence of future agricultural specialists

Анотація

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the theoretical foundations of environmental education and identifies scientific approaches to the formation of environmental competence in future specialists of the agricultural sector. The relevance of the environmentalization of professional training is substantiated in view of the increasing anthropogenic pressure on natural resources in agriculture and the need to ensure sustainable development of the agricultural sector. The essence of the concepts of “environmental education” and “environmental competence” is revealed, and their structure and main components are defined, including environmental knowledge, thinking, worldview, and value orientations. Modern scientific approaches to the formation of environmental competence are analyzed, including competence-based, systemic, activity-based, and interdisciplinary approaches. Special attention is paid to the specifics of training future agricultural specialists whose professional activities are directly related to the use of natural resources and impact on the environment. The role of environmental education in developing the ability to make environmentally sound decisions, implement resource-saving technologies, and adhere to the principles of rational nature management is determined. It is proven that the effective formation of environmental competence is possible through the integration of environmental knowledge into professional training, the establishment of interdisciplinary connections, the combination of theoretical and practical training, and the orientation of the educational process towards the principles of sustainable development
