ECONOMIC IMPLICATIONS OF THE CONSOLIDATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS FOR THE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES MARKET IN UKRAINE IN THE CONTEXT OF INDUSTRY 4.0 AND 5.0

Анотація

The article examines the economic implications of the consolidation of higher education institutions for the educational services market in Ukraine. In the context of demographic decline, limited budget funding, and structural imbalances in the higher education system, the process of unifying universities and institutes is a key factor in increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of the educational market. The main economic consequences of consolidation are analyzed, including the optimization of financial resources, reduction of administrative costs, growth of scientific potential, and improvement of operational efficiency. Particular attention is paid to the impact of consolidation on the restructuring of the educational services market - the elimination of duplicate educational programs and the formation of a more targeted offer in accordance with the needs of the labor market. The role of institutional autonomy and effective strategic management in ensuring the successful integration of HEIs is also considered. The socio-economic risks associated with the accessibility of education in the regions and personnel changes are recognized. The article emphasizes the need for a systematic approach to the implementation of consolidation as a component stage of higher education reform for the sustainable development of the Ukrainian educational space.
