THE DOLLAR AS A TOOL OF US FOREIGN POLICY

The article examines the role of the American dollar in the system of international relations and its impact on the foreign policy of the US. The author analyzes the historical and contemporary aspects of the use of the dollar as an instrument of economic pressure and diplomatic influence. The work discusses the mechanisms by which the United States uses its currency to advance national interests in the global arena, including sanctions policy, control over financial institutions and the dollar dependence of world markets. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the effectiveness of these strategies and their consequences for the global economy and international relations. The author comes to the conclusion that the dollar remains a powerful instrument of US foreign policy influence, but its influence is associated with growing demands from other economic powers and the trend towards dedollarization of the world economy.
