The article substantiates the management of business ecosystems in Ukraine in the context of European integration transformations, digitalization, and turbulence. It is shown that, unlike mature European ecosystems, Ukrainian ecosystems are formed under conditions of heightened institutional uncertainty, limited access to capital, and disruptions in value chains. At the same time, these factors stimulate the emergence of flexible network-based configurations of interaction, particularly in the fields of IT, fintech, logistics, agribusiness, education, and the creative industries. The aim of the study is to develop a conceptual model for managing business ecosystems and a methodological approach to assessing the effectiveness of their functioning in the context of European integration. The theoretical foundation of the research is based on the ecosystem paradigm of strategic management and approaches to platform governance. The study also considers the influence of EU regulatory frameworks for digital platforms and markets, as well as policies of sustainable development and finance, which facilitate the transition from a corporate approach to ecosystem-level governance based on ESG and compliance principles. The proposed model integrates strategic, institutional-regulatory, operational, and ESG/compliance governance contours that collectively form a closed cycle of value creation and ensure the resilience of business ecosystems. For applied diagnostics, an integral index of ecosystem management effectiveness (IEEU) is proposed. The index is constructed in accordance with OECD recommendations on composite indicators and involves Min–Max normalization for stimulators and destimulators, along with an interpretative scale of ecosystem maturity levels. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the integration of ecosystem strategy, regulatory compliance with the acquis communautaire, and ESG principles within a unified methodological framework for assessing the effectiveness of business ecosystem management. Keywords: business ecosystem, ecosystem core, ecosystem participants, conceptual model, European integration, European standards, ESG principles, compliance, integral index
