Public sentiment of Ukrainians in marking their resilience in the realities of a protracted war (regional differences)

Yevghen Siryi

Анотація

The material examines and updates certain significant aspects of the social reflection of Ukrainians (social mood and self-assessment of their living situation), which are particularly marked as components of resilience in a new regional comparison based on the criterion of “proximity to war”. This predictably shows the features and differences of various reflective projections in a situation with war. Measurement and analysis were carried out in two planes: regional comparison of given indicators of social mood and their two-dimensional analysis regarding the criterion of economic involvement, as one of the key factors of resilience. Based on sociological and socio-statistical data, their two-dimensional comparison, a separate study was carried out of the constructive impact of involvement on the components of resilience and on the effective activation of the civic position (involvement). A comparison of derived indicators of the manifestation of resilience was carried out. Interregional differences were made (according to the new proposed criteria for distinction) in the indicated aspects of human reflection. It was found that over more than three years of war, the population of Ukraine became more critical and realistic in thinking about the war. The constructive role of socio-economic involvement as a factor in the resilience of Ukrainians was proven.
