IMPLEMENTATION OF EMPLOYEE WELLBEING PROGRAMS: EXPERIENCE OF ENGLISH AND UKRAINIAN COMPANIES AND DIRECTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT IN MODERN CONDITIONS
Анотація
The article explores the concept of employee wellbeing and examines the historical development and current structure of wellbeing programmes.Based on existing research, five core elements of employee wellbeing are identified: health, career, finance, and social and community connections, which should be taken into account when designing wellbeing programmes. The interrelationship between certain wellbeing domains, such as physical, psychological and financial wellbeing, is also analysed, as these interdependencies must be considered when developing and implementing employee wellbeing programmes. The study examines existing cases of wellbeing programme implementation in British and Ukrainian enterprises. It has been established that British companies consciously choose employee wellbeing as a strategic priority, approach programme development in a systematic manner, and cover not only physical health but also psychological and financial wellbeing.Ukrainian enterprises, although still often perceiving wellbeing programmes primarily as additional costs, also demonstrate successful cases of implementation. As a rule, wellbeing programmes in Ukrainian companies predominantly focus on health and psychological support rather than financial wellbeing or social and community connections. The main directions for strengthening the role of managers in the implementation of employee wellbeing programmes are analysed, including increasing knowledge and awareness, assigning a strategic focus to wellbeing initiatives, leadership orientation towards employee wellbeing, and ensuring the systemic and comprehensive nature of programmes. An organisational mechanism for the implementation of employee wellbeing programmes is proposed, which includes assessment of the current level of employee wellbeing; system development and selection of tools and means; implementation of programmes across all wellbeing domains and monitoring of their execution; evaluation of levels, adjustment and updating of wellbeing programmes in line with identified shortcomings.Statement of the problem.Ukrainian enterprises operate under extremely challenging conditions: constant disruptions to electricity and heating supply, threats
