Innovations as a Foundation for the Sustainable Development of Ukrainian Agrarian Enterprises under Martial Law
Анотація
The role of innovations in ensuring the sustainable development of agrarian enterprises in Ukraine under martial law is examined. The relevance of the study is determined by the prolonged military hostilities since 2022, which have significantly complicated the functioning of the agrarian sector, intensified financial, infrastructural, human resource and environmental risks, and at the same time increased the importance of innovations as a tool of adaptation and economic resilience. The aim of the article is to substantiate innovations as a functional basis for ensuring economic resilience, environmental balance and social stability of agrarian enterprises in Ukraine under martial law, as well as to systematise the key directions of innovative activity that form the potential for sustainable development in crisis conditions. The objectives of the study include generalisation of scientific approaches to innovative development of the agricultural sector, identification of priority innovation directions, and assessment of their impact on the economic, environmental and social components of sustainability. The methodological framework of the research is based on system and integrated approaches, methods of analysis, synthesis and logical structuring. The study systematises innovation directions of agrarian enterprises taking into account wartime constraints related to limited financial resources, infrastructural disruptions, market instability and human capital losses. The results of the study indicate that innovation activity of agrarian enterprises under martial law has a predominantly adaptive nature, while simultaneously forming the basis for postwar modernisation of the agrarian sector. It is substantiated that digital, technological, resource-efficient, environmental and organisational innovations are the most significant under wartime conditions, as they ensure production continuity, reduce resource costs and contribute to the preservation of human capital. It is concluded that innovations act as a key prerequisite for integrating economic, environmental and social components of sustainable development of agrarian enterprises in wartime conditions. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in their applicability for developing innovation-oriented strategies of agrarian enterprises and for shaping policies aimed at supporting sustainable development of the agrarian sector of Ukraine during martial law and postwar recovery.
