Анотація
Introduction. In the context of prolonged war and structural economic turbulence, manufacturing enterprises in Ukraine face exceptional challenges to preserve operational viability and strategic flexibility. Unlike trade or service providers, these enterprises function within high-cost, material-intensive environments, making their competitiveness highly sensitive to internal productivity and external adaptability. This paper explores the specific nature of manufacturing enterprise competitiveness (MEC) and outlines the managerial priorities required for effective functioning under current conditions. The purpose of the paper is to conceptualize the essence of MEC under crisis circumstances, to identify critical structural elements, and to formulate relevant microeconomic mechanisms for its formation and strengthening. Particular attention is paid to the managerial imperative of adapting Ukrainian manufacturing firms to the institutional and competitive environment of the European Union. Results. The study defines MEC as a demonstrated ability to develop, produce, and commercialize offerings that meet the unique needs of target market segments while integrating into the business environment and attracting external resources. The analysis reveals key components of MEC, including production flexibility, technological capacity, resource resilience. Seven key microeconomic mechanisms are systematized, ranging from innovation policy and logistics reconfiguration to HR transformation and financial adaptation. The paper also outlines a roadmap for aligning Ukrainian firms with EU competition principles, emphasizing ESG-compliance, digital standards, and quality assurance. Conclusion. The results deepen the theoretical understanding of MEC and provide a structured framework for strategic decision-making. The proposed mechanisms and adaptation steps contribute to managerial practice and support Ukraine’s integration into the European economic area.
