The article examines the transformation of customs activities in the context of the digitalization of the economy and identifies the main trends in the development of the modern customs system. The rapid spread of digital technologies, the intensification of international trade and the integration of Ukraine into the world economic space necessitate the modernization of customs administration. Also, the digitalization of the customs sphere is one of the key areas for increasing the efficiency of public administration, simplifying the procedures of foreign economic activity and ensuring the proper level of economic security of the state. The features of the implementation of digital technologies in the activities of customs authorities are studied, in particular electronic declaration, automated customs control systems, electronic document management, risk management systems and modern information and analytical platforms. The use of digital tools contributes to increasing the transparency of customs procedures, reducing the time for clearance of goods and vehicles, reducing administrative costs and minimizing corruption risks. The digital transformation of customs activities ensures the prompt exchange of information between state bodies, entities of foreign economic activity and international partners. Along with the positive aspects of digitalization, problems that complicate the process of reforming the customs system are outlined. Among them, the insufficient level of technical support, the need to improve the regulatory framework, cybersecurity threats, and the need to increase the digital competencies of customs officials are highlighted. It is concluded that the further development of the digitalization of customs activities should be based on the comprehensive implementation of innovative technologies, improving public administration mechanisms, and strengthening international cooperation in the field of customs control. Effective digitalization of customs activities is an important factor in increasing the competitiveness of the state, strengthening economic security, and developing international economic cooperation
