Relevance of the research. The transition to an information society and mass digitisation in the 21st century has transformed the concept of social trauma, actualizing the need to understand it in the context of new technological and communicative conditions. In such circumstances, social trauma appears not only as an emotional, psychological or cultural phenomenon but also as a long-term cumulative process shaped by systemic transformations – demographic, social, economic, cultural, political, historical, etc. The scientific problem lies in the lack of in-depth theoretical and empirical research devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the social trauma of war as a factor that determines not only the current state of society but also the prospects for its post-traumatic development. The study of this issue is a priority vector of contemporary interdisciplinary research focused on the development of effective strategies for social recovery, the formation of national unity, and ensuring the sustainable future development of the Ukrainian nation in the post-war period. The purpose of this article is to define the category of social trauma and identify its role in the processes of resilience of Ukrainian society to traumatic events arising during the Russian-Ukrainian war. Conclusions. Social trauma in the Ukrainian context appears to be a systemic, deeply rooted, and multi-level phenomenon that is formed under the influence of war and covers numerous dimensions of society's life—from the individual psycho-emotional state to structural shifts in the social, cultural, economic, and political systems. Within the framework of contemporary social trauma theory, it is appropriate to distinguish between different levels of traumatic experience, including psychological, collective, cultural, economic, political, historical and intergenerational. The results of a thorough analysis of expert assessments and sociological data show that Ukrainian society, in the context of full-scale war, demonstrates a high level of social resilience, which manifests itself through the mobilisation of collective potential, unity, readiness to adapt, and self-organization.
