Systemic transformation of business processes of large agricultural enterprises: economic and management aspect

Subject of study. The subject of the study is the systemic transformation of business processes in large agricultural enterprises under conditions of war-related risks, logistical disruptions, personnel shortages, energy instability, and market turbulence. Aim of the study. The aim of the study is to substantiate the theoretical and practical foundations of the systemic transformation of business processes in large agricultural enterprises, identify key transformation contours, and develop a structural-functional model and performance indicators for improving competitiveness, financial sustainability, and long-term resilience in a highly uncertain environment. Research methods. The study applies a combination of general scientific and special research methods, including comparative analysis of the financial performance of major Ukrainian agricultural enterprises during 2022–2024, systematization and generalization of corporate practices, structural-functional modeling, analytical grouping, and the development of a matrix of priority transformation areas and key performance indicators. Results of work. The study demonstrates that the effectiveness of modern agribusiness depends not only on the scale of operations and resource capacity, but also on the ability to comprehensively redesign production, logistics, financial-analytical, human resource, sales-export, and corporate management processes. It is proved that war has acted as a catalyst for the structural reconfiguration of agricultural business, intensifying the need for process integration, digitalization, managerial flexibility, and operational resilience. A comparative analysis of large Ukrainian agricultural enterprises in 2022–2024 made it possible to identify different adaptation models and to determine that the most effective transformation practices are associated with production digitalization, logistics restructuring, integrated budgeting and controlling, HR digitalization, ESG implementation, and enhanced energy autonomy. As a result, six key contours of systemic transformation were identified: production, logistics, financial-analytical, personnel, sales-export, and corporate governance. The paper also proposes a structural-functional model of systemic business process transformation, develops a matrix of priority transformation areas, and offers a system of key performance indicators to assess transformation outcomes. It is concluded that systemic transformation is a critical prerequisite for strengthening the competitiveness, financial sustainability, and long-term resilience of large agricultural enterprises.
