MACROECONOMIC INDICATORS FOR ASSESSING THE EFFICIENCY OF MANAGEMENT OF TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS SYSTEMS IN THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR

Abstract. The article explores the possibilities of using macroeconomic indicators to assess the effectiveness of transport and logistics systems management in the agri-food sector. It is evident that amid evolving logistics routes, growing external challenges, and the agricultural sector's increasing role in ensuring the country's economic resilience, there is a growing need for analytical tools capable of capturing the impact of transport and logistics processes on the performance of the agri-food sector. Scientific approaches to understanding the effectiveness of transport and logistics systems are summarized, and the specific features of their macro-level assessment are identified. A system of macroeconomic indicators for assessing the effectiveness of transport and logistics systems management in the agri-food sector has been developed, including indicators of gross domestic product, gross value added in agriculture, agricultural production volumes, foreign trade, and structural characteristics of the agricultural sector. Based on the analysis of statistical data for 2020–2024, instability in the dynamics of agricultural production and gross value added was identified, along with a decline in the agricultural sector's share of GDP and a significant increase in the role of agricultural exports in shaping the country's foreign economic performance. It has been shown that macroeconomic indicators enable the identification of the impact of logistics constraints on the functioning of the agri-food sector, the assessment of the level of adaptation of transport and logistics systems to changes in the external environment, and the determination of directions for improving the efficiency of logistics management processes. It has been established that ensuring the continuity of export flows, developing transport and logistics infrastructure, and increasing the flexibility of logistics chains are important prerequisites for strengthening the competitiveness of the agri-food sector.
