Sociological theories of leadership in the strategic analysis of economic behaviour of business entities

Introduction. The agrarian sector of Ukraine, under conditions of full-scale war, has faced unprecedented challenges associated with the destruction of production and logistics infrastructure, loss of land resources, financial constraints, labour migration, and increased risks of economic activity. Under such circumstances, the economic behaviour of agricultural enterprises is increasingly determined not only by market signals and state support but also by social factors, including the level of trust, solidarity, informal interaction networks, and leadership influence at local and sectoral levels. Methods (Methodology). The methodological basis of the study is formed by a combination of general scientific and sociological research methods. Analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction are applied to systematize sociological theories of leadership and to generalize their role in shaping the economic behaviour of business entities. Structural-functional and institutional approaches are employed to identify the impact of leadership on motivation, coordination, and strategic decision-making within economic systems. Comparative analysis and elements of the behavioural approach are used to assess differences in leadership models and their significance for the strategic analysis of economic behaviour under conditions of instability. Results. It is substantiated that sociological theories of leadership play a significant role in the strategic analysis of the economic behaviour of business entities in the agrarian sector of Ukraine, as they enable the identification of the influence of trust, legitimacy, and social capital on managerial decision-making in conditions of war and post-crisis recovery. Leadership is shown to act as a key factor in adaptation and resource mobilization, shaping resilient models of development of agricultural enterprises. The consideration of the social dimension of leadership within state agrarian policy contributes to enhancing the resilience, competitiveness, and sustainable development of Ukraine’s agrarian sector.
