The Essence and Structure of Training Future Social Workers for the Socio-Economic Protection of Youth in the Community

The article is devoted to the theoretical substantiation of the essence and determination of the structural components of training future social workers for the socio-economic protection of youth in the community under modern socio-economic and political challenges. The paper highlights the relevance of staffing issues in the social sphere during the period 2020–2026, when the growth of social tension, internal migration, consequences of war, and economic instability led to a sharp increase in demand for professional social services. The interrelation between the reform of higher education and the needs of socio-economic protection of youth at the level of territorial communities is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to identifying the structural components of professional training: target, content-related, organizational, technological, and result-oriented components. The necessity of developing not only theoretical knowledge but also practical competencies, interdisciplinary cooperation skills, analytical thinking, and empathetic communication among students is substantiated. Special consideration is given to the issue of staff shortages in the social sphere and its impact on the growing role of alternative forms of support, including digital services and artificial intelligence systems. The potential risks of substituting “live support” with formalized technological solutions are highlighted, as this may lead to a decrease in the level of social interaction, deeper isolation of youth, and reduced effectiveness of socio-economic adaptation in the post-war period. The article has a theoretical character and is aimed at systematizing scientific approaches to understanding the training of future social workers as a holistic process that combines knowledge, professional skills, value orientations, and personal qualities. The necessity of modernizing the educational process in accordance with contemporary challenges, strengthening its practice-oriented component, and ensuring alignment with the real needs of communities is substantiated. The main purpose of the article is to form a comprehensive scientific vision of the essence and structure of training future social workers for the socio-economic protection of youth in the community as a foundation for creating an effective system of human resource support in the social sphere. The author proceeds from the position that the quality of professional education directly affects the level of social stability of the state, the potential of younger generations, and the capacity of communities for recovery and development. The paper emphasizes that under conditions of growing social needs, the state must focus not only on increasing the number of social work professionals but also on improving the quality of their professional training, since qualified social workers serve as the fundamental basis for building trust, support, and social balance in society.
