Regional and Ethnic Stigmatization as a Factor of ‘Secondary Benefits’ and Barriers of Social Inclusion of IDPs (Ukrainian Case)

Vitalii LunovORCID

Анотація

Social inclusion of internally displaced persons (IDP) from the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine due to military actions is considered in the context of social integration. We found the following pattern: stigmatization of IDP is supported by two main factors, based on the idea of them, as people with a special status, which, naturally, is not devoid of a real basis. On the one hand, we are talking about such phenomena as social isolation, hostility, indifference (both from the host regions and from the settlers). On the other hand - the search for a secondary benefit from the special status, which corresponds to the role repertoire of the identified patient in the theory of V. Satir. Social inclusion is seen as a process leading to social integration. The role of the sense of regional and ethnic belonging in this process is revealed.
