The Theoretical Foundations of the Formation and Adaptation of Enterprise Potential in the Context of Threats to Economic Security from Unfair Competition
Анотація
The article examines the theoretical foundations of the formation and adaptation of enterprise potential under threats to economic security caused by the spread of unfair competition practices. It is substantiated that enterprise potential cannot be viewed solely as a static aggregate of resources; rather, it represents an integral characteristic of an open socioeconomic system capable of forming, reproducing, and transforming its capabilities into market outcomes. The synthesis of resource-based, result-oriented, and system approaches made it possible to propose an interpretation of enterprise potential as an integrated set of resources, competencies, and organizational and managerial capabilities aimed at achieving strategic and tactical objectives and ensuring sustainable development. Particular attention is paid to the structuring of enterprise potential as a prerequisite for its measurement and efficient management. Scientific approaches to allocating the economic, innovative, human, financial, production, and other components of potential are analyzed, and their interrelationships and roles in shaping the enterprise’s overall development capacity are determined. It is proved that potential is dynamic in nature and is formed under the influence of internal factors and the external competitive environment. The article substantiates a systemic relationship between the formation of enterprise potential, the state of economic security, and the nature of the competitive environment. It is shown that unfair competition distorts the process of transformation of internal capabilities into competitive advantages, reduces returns on investments in resources and competencies, and increases the risk of «freezing» the potential. The main channels through which unfair competition affects the financial, production, human, and innovation potentials of enterprises are identified. It is concluded that efficient realization of enterprise potential in modern conditions requires a combination of strategic development mechanisms and economic security instruments aimed at neutralizing destructive competitive influences.
