THE STATE AND TRANSFORMATION OF UKRAINE'S MACROECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT IN MODERN CONDITIONS

The article provides a comprehensive macroeconomic analysis of the state and prospects for the development of the Ukrainian economy in the conditions of a full-scale war and post-war recovery. The article analyzes modern scientific approaches of domestic and foreign researchers to the assessment of macroeconomic processes in Ukraine, which allowed us to outline the key areas of economic transformation in the conditions of post-war recovery.The dynamics of key macroeconomic indicators during 2021–2025 were studied, in particular, gross domestic product, sectoral structure of the economy, inflation rate, unemployment, state budget parameters, and debt burden. It is substantiated that military actions, temporary occupation of part of the territories, large-scale destruction of production and social infrastructure, as well as increased needs for financing the state's defense capabilities significantly affected the macroeconomic stability of Ukraine and led to the formation of new structural imbalances. It has been established that the national economy demonstrated relative stability and ability to adapt in the face of war shocks, which was manifested in the gradual restoration of economic activity, stabilization of the financial system, and preservation of the functional capacity of the main sectors of the economy. Coordinated fiscal and monetary policy measures, as well as significant international financial assistance, played a special role in maintaining macroeconomic balance. At the same time, it was established that the national economy demonstrated relative stability and ability to adapt in the face of war shocks, which was manifested in the gradual restoration of economic activity, stabilization of the financial system, and preservation of the functional capacity of the main sectors of the economy. A system of practical recommendations for improving Ukraine's macroeconomic indicators is proposed. The implementation of the proposed measures will contribute to ensuring macroeconomic stability, increasing the competitiveness of the national economy, and creating the prerequisites for sustainable socio-economic development of Ukraine in the medium and long term.
