Digital initiatives as a catalyst for transforming business operating models: assessment of performance and economic impact.

Анотація

The article examines digital initiatives as a catalyst for transforming the operating models of Ukrainian enterprises in the context of economic instability, military challenges, and the need to increase competitiveness in domestic and international markets. It is substantiated that the introduction of technologies (cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, Internet of Things) changes traditional operating models, ensuring increased productivity, cost reduction, and increased business flexibility. Sectoral features of digital transformation in manufacturing, financial services, agriculture, and e-commerce are analyzed. It is proven that the economic effect is manifested through direct cost savings, increased revenues from digital channels and the creation of long-term strategic value, in particular, increasing organizational resilience and the quality of management decisions. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of the agricultural sector through precision agriculture and the financial sector through mobile banking and fintech. Key barriers to digitalization are identified: limited access to capital, shortage of qualified personnel, resistance to change, cybersecurity risks and infrastructure limitations, especially in rural areas. Approaches to assessing the profitability of investments are proposed, which take into account not only financial, but also intangible benefits (reputation, staff satisfaction, sustainability). Strategic recommendations for enterprises are formulated: conducting a digital maturity audit, phased implementation, investments in staff training, change management, as well as the use of partnerships and industry consortia. The role of state support (tax incentives, grants, favorable regulatory framework) and integration with European digital markets is emphasized. It is concluded that digital transformation is a necessary condition for the long-term competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises, and its potential will grow with the development of the IT sector, digital literacy and infrastructure.
