The state of migration processes in Ukraine and trends in their consequences

Migration research has been the subject of special attention for many years, and it is clear that globalization is deepening migration processes. At the same time, military actions can have a significant negative impact on the growth of emigration from a country, which has been observed repeatedly throughout history. The full-scale war with Russia has led to an unprecedented surge in migration from Ukraine, which could have significant negative consequences for the country’s economy and for the nation’s development in the future. The purpose of the study is to analyze current trends and problems of migration from Ukraine, as well as a set of factors that affect migration processes and may also be the factors of its reduction. The article examines the essence of migration, the impact of the war on migration processes in Ukraine, the main trends, problems and negative consequences caused by largescale migration from Ukraine. Particular attention is paid to the migration of the young population. The article uses the methods of analysis and synthesis, generalization, and modeling. The factors influencing migration were modeled using system dynamics methods. The study draws attention to the need to apply various methods of state influence to stimulate the return of migrants during and after the war, since the lack of proper attention to this problem may aggravate the economic crisis in the country and cause the aging of the population. A deeper analysis of foreign experience in further research and development of state programs for the return of migrants is extremely relevant. It is emphasized that different countries of the world have faced wars, economic crises and large waves of emigration, but only effective public policy and the development of an innovative economy have a positive impact on reducing these processes.
