MODERNIZATION OF THE LABOR SPHERE IN THE CONTEXT OF THE DIGITAL ECONOMY: REGIONAL DIMENSIONS AND INSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGES

Анотація

The article examines the peculiarities of modernization of the labor sphere in the context of the development of the digital economy and the spread of digital technologies. The impact of digitalization on the transformation of the structure of employment, the content of work, and the quality of jobs is revealed. It is argued that digital technologies are a key factor in changes in social and labor relations, contributing to the formation of new professions, the spread of remote and platform employment, and the increasing role of knowledge and digital competencies of employees. The main opportunities and risks of the digital transformation of the labor market are analyzed, in particular the polarization of employment, the growth of requirements for workforce qualifications, the emergence of non-standard forms of employment, and the threat of increased socio-economic inequality. Particular attention is paid to institutional challenges related to the need to modernize the labor market regulation system, develop digital infrastructure, and form new mechanisms for social protection and support for the professional mobility of the population. The paper highlights current trends in digital transformation in Ukraine, its impact on the functioning of the labor market, and employment promotion institutions. It concludes that the effective adaptation of the labor sector to the conditions of the digital economy requires a comprehensive state policy aimed at developing human capital, digital skills, inclusive employment, and institutional stability of the labor market.
