Analysis of Industry as an Information Basis for Managing the Sustainable Development of an Enterprise

Анотація

The article reveals the role of industry analysis for making management decisions on the sustainable development of enterprises and also conducts an industry analysis of the sustainable development of the Ukrainian industry based on the proposed algorithm. For this purpose, the article conducts an in-depth review of scientific sources on the content, stages, and methods of industry analysis. It is emphasized that in modern conditions, when the ideas of sustainable development are gaining popularity at all levels (global, individual countries, industries, and enterprises), the task of implementing the concept of sustainable development into the practice of industry analysis is relevant. Modern scientific research is aimed at studying issues of the life cycle of the industry, but the emphasis is on financial indicators. Another area of ​​research concerns issues of resource provision with a clear focus on continuous improvement of environmental indicators. Accordingly, the key components of the concept of sustainable development, economic, environmental, and social, the article presents a list of indicators by which a comprehensive analysis of the sustainable development of the Ukrainian industry was conducted. The analysis of the sustainability of industrial development by economic component was carried out on the basis of such indicators as: the share of industrial production in GDP, the number of industrial enterprises, volumes and indices of industrial output, financial result, added value, capital investments and indicators of innovative activity of industrial enterprises, etc. In general, the trends in industrial development indicate systemic problems: a decline in production, a low level of investment and innovative activity, a general reduction in the number of enterprises, and their role in the development of the national economy. The social sphere during the war years underwent significant transformations, when the tasks of preserving human resources, creating safe conditions, maintaining the level of well-being, etc. came to the fore. The ecological vector of sustainable industrial development in recent years has not had adequate funding, and the war years have added the problem of large-scale environmental damage caused to the environment. In general, industrial development was not only not sustainable in terms of its main components but also did not meet the requirements of wartime. The article identifies the main stages of adaptation to wartime conditions, identifies the main priority areas of development and measures of state support.
