Анотація

The article addresses the essence of the category «professional judgment of a modern manager» as a tool for reducing uncertainty in enterprise management activities. In conditions of economic dynamism and variability, information overload, and high competition, the ability to make well-reasoned decisions based on professional and personal factors is a guarantee of stable strategic development. The article proposes a definition of the category «manager’s professional judgment» as an expert’s opinion on solving specific business tasks in the context of the need to adapt to market opportunities and respond to threats. Emphasis is placed on the value of using professional judgments in practical activities, allowing the manager to identify the most suitable management approach by understanding problematic aspects, assessing risks, and developing measures to optimize management amid the variability of business processes. A list of factors influencing the formulation of professional judgment in management has been compiled, with the impact of the human factor analyzed separately. Among the key factors, the essence of the personal factor has been substantiated, which determines the value attitudes and professional worldview of a manager; the psychological factor, which is somewhat narrower than the previous one and defines the characteristics of internal mental processes; the educational factor, reflected in the professional and life competencies of the specialist; the practical factor, aimed at applying knowledge and skills in real conditions; and the research factor, which focuses on seeking and realizing creative potential. As a result of the study, the main stages of the process of forming a manager’s professional judgment have been identified and analyzed, with detailed descriptions provided. Four blocks have been visualized, sequentially reflecting the logic of constructing professional judgment – from problem identification and the development of alternative judgment options to the organization, control, and analysis of the adopted judgment. The analysis of stages is critically important for the efficient formulation and successful implementation of professional judgment in a manager’s practical activities, as it enables a systematic approach to addressing the given task and minimizing potential risks.
