MIGRATION PROCESSES IN UKRAINE: CHALLENGES, ECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES AND WAYS OF RESPONSE

The article is devoted to the study of challenges, economic consequences and ways of responding to migration processes in Ukraine. After all, modern migration processes that arose as a result of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine have become a powerful challenge for both our state and the international community. Large-scale forced migration, which is accompanied by numerous social, demographic and economic consequences, requires the development of an effective response strategy both at the national and international levels. The study shows that the motivation for migration in wartime is multidimensional — from security and political to economic, social and environmental factors. Changes in the dynamics of labor migration, combined with the growth of forced migration, change the structure of the population, create challenges for the labor market, social security and education systems, and also affect the long-term prospects for the country's recovery. At the same time, migration processes open up new opportunities: Ukrainians demonstrate a high level of adaptation to new conditions, actively integrating into the socio-economic life of European countries. Their presence stimulates economic activity, fills the labor shortage, and strengthens the educational and scientific potential in host countries. The key task for Ukraine after the end of the war will be re-emigration — the return of citizens to their homeland. This requires the formation of a clear state policy aimed at ensuring decent living conditions, rebuilding destroyed infrastructure, creating jobs, developing small and mediumsized businesses, as well as supporting educational and social programs for the adaptation and integration of returned citizens.
