Structural problems and imbalances in the development of Ukrainian industry

In today's economic climate, the primary objective is to achieve technological independence and self-sufficiency in the economy, with maximum reliance on its own resources for development. This article analyzes the structure of the economy in the context of hightech production development, highlighting structural disparities and imbalances associated with the ratio of exports to imports, the high share of trade and financial activity in gross value added, and the gap between investment growth rates and financial investment growth rates. It reveals that the main structural problems that underlie Ukraine's weak position as a manufacturer of finished products in the global market are deindustrialization and disproportionate in the industrial structure; investment and financial barriers to modernization; technological backwardness and low innovative activity; energy shortages associated with the high energy intensity of production; socio-demographic imbalances of labor resources in the region. It has been established that the main problem is the technological backwardness of the industry, as a result of which the innovative activity of enterprises is lost at a low level. Structural shifts in the economy can lead to positive results, such as technological innovation, the emergence of new technological capabilities, increased labor productivity, and, ultimately, stable and sustainable economic growth. However, they can also lead to serious structural imbalances, resulting in an imbalance in the economic structure.
