KEY PARADIGMS AND POSSIBILITIES FOR POVERTY ALLEVIATION IN UKRAINE

summary. Under present conditions, poverty often becomes an obstacle to the stability of society and its further development. In the era of political and economic changes, the current state of poverty in Ukraine is the basis for the development of practical recommendations that will help to eliminate existing problems of living standards, helping to become an economy on the path to sustainable development. As the Government of Ukraine approved a plan of measures for 2019 to implement the Poverty Reduction Strategy, this is one of the priority issues. The definition of the term "poverty" is considered in the article. Proclassifies the factors of poverty: economic, political and social factors. Two approaches to determining the level of poverty are outlined: absolute and relative. The main indicators measuring the poverty level are considered to be the level of minimum wages, average monthly wages and living wage. The level of average monthly wages of European countries is analyzed. The trends of wages in Ukraine for the period of 2013-2019 are monitored. The level of wages in Ukraine in real and nominal terms is researched. The main causes of poverty in Ukraine should be considered a high level of monopoly and a rental model of the economic model. The manifestation of the theory of comparative advantages on the example of Ukraine is explored. The key to Ukraine's high competitiveness at the international level is to raise the level of wealth of the Ukrainian population. The ways of overcoming the existing problems consisting in optimizing the mechanism of overcoming unemployment are proposed; the growth of real wages of the population should be tightly connected with the growth of labor productivity, create conditions for the formation of a strategy for sustainable development of agriculture and to balance the payment of social assistance to the poorer segments of the population.
