NON-CURRENT TANGIBLE ASSETS IN THE ENTERPRISE’S DEPRECIATION POLICY
Анотація
<p><span>An important factor affecting the performance of an enterprise is the efficient operation and use of non-current assets.</span><span> </span><span>Without them it is impossible to imagine the processes of production, performance of works</span><span> </span><span>and provision of services.</span><span> </span><span>The basis of strategic decision-making in business management is a sound construction of depreciation policy for fixed assets.</span><span> </span><span>It should be formed on the basis of the method of collecting and processing accounting information.</span><span> </span><span>The efficiency of the use of fixed assets and other non-current tangible assets in the economic activity of the enterprise depends on the quality of the accounting data.</span><span> </span><span>The article explores theoretical and practical approaches to the construction of depreciation policy.</span><span> </span><span>Its role, place and value in the accounting policy of the enterprise are determined.</span><span> </span><span>The components of the depreciation policy of non-current tangible assets are identified; their elements and options are analyzed.</span><span> </span><span>The types of accounting procedures distinguish the elements of accounting policies:</span><span> </span><span>1) the value criterion for recognition of assets;</span><span> </span><span>2) useful life;</span><span> </span><span>3) depreciable value;</span><span> </span><span>4) method of depreciation calculation.</span><span> </span><span>Depreciation policy, in-depth analysis of depreciation methods gives an alternative approach to determining the amount of deductions, to manage costs and financial results.</span><span> </span><span>A model of accounting information flows that arise in the course of exploitation of fixed assets is constructed.</span><span> </span><span>The events that affect the change in the asset's original cost and the amount of depreciation charged are highlighted:</span><span> </span><span>1) improvement of fixed assets (modernization, reconstruction);</span><span> </span><span>2) revaluation of fixed assets and other non-current tangible assets;</span><span> </span><span>3) partial elimination of fixed assets.</span><span> </span><span>It is justified that depreciation policy covers all areas of accounting for fixed assets, regardless of the form of their operation.</span><span> </span><span>An alternative approach to the grouping of fixed assets is considered.</span><span> </span><span>It is based on the functional (purpose) use of objects in the business of the enterprise for the purposes of depreciation in the accounting system.</span><span> </span><span>It is proved that the proposed classification is meaningful, informative and can be used in the practical activity of the enterprise.</span></p>
