CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION OF UKRAINE IN THE BLACK SEA REGION: DIRECTIONS AND PROSPECTS

The article explores Ukraine’s cross-border cooperation in the Black Sea region with Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, and Moldova, focusing on key areas: economy, ecology, security, and cultural exchange. Ukraine advances maritime trade through Odesa and Chornomorsk ports, partnering with Turkey and Georgia, while integrating into European transport corridors with Romania and Bulgaria. Energy cooperation includes energy transit and renewable energy projects. Environmental initiatives, particularly in the Danube Delta, aim to preserve biodiversity and adapt to climate change. Security partnerships with Turkey and Georgia involve naval exercises and countering regional threats. Cultural and educational projects with all regional countries strengthen historical ties. Participation in BSEC and EU collaboration promote standard harmonization. The article highlights the potential of the “blue economy” and the importance of political stability to transform the Black Sea into a space of unity, emphasizing Ukraine’s strategic role in fostering regional stability and prosperity.
