Increasing the efficiency of production systems based on optimizing the dynamics of resources assigned to the stages of their transformation

Анотація

This article examines the efficiency of production systems using evidence from the machine-building industry in the Donetsk region. It argues that traditional efficiency indicators do not fully capture the dynamics of efficiency formation across successive stages of resource transformation. Production activity is conceptualized as a chain in which resources, costs, and results evolve with different growth rates. To address this limitation, the paper proposes an integral indicator of efficiency improvement based on weighted growth rates at different transformation stages. The approach enables identification of bottlenecks in the production process and supports planning resource volumes required to maintain the desired level of useful results. The proposed framework offers a systemic method for managing efficiency dynamics. Originally published in 2003 in Scientific Works of Donetsk National Technical University.
