Causal Relathionships Between Gross Domestic Product, International Trade and Foreign Direct Investment in Ukraine

Анотація

The causality relationships between gross domestic product, foreign direct investment, export and import of goods and services in Ukraine over the period 1996-2019 are analyzed in the study. Augmented Dickey-Fuller, Johansen co-integration, Granger causality Wald tests, Vector Error Correction Model and Vector Autoregressive Model were applied for investigation of these Ukrainian’s macroeconomic indicators. It was determined that there are a causal unidirectional relationships from foreign direct investment to gross domestic product, from foreign direct investment to export, from foreign direct investment to import in Ukraine. The result of issue does not confirm possible Granger-causality between export and import, gross domestic product and export, gross domestic product and import.
