ENHANCING THE METHODOLOGY FOR ASSESSING THE FINANCIAL STABILITY OF CORPORATE SECTOR ENTITIES
Анотація
Introduction. This article is devoted to improving methodological approaches to assessing the financial stability of entities in the corporate sector. Financial stability is considered a fundamental indicator of a company's viability, reflecting its ability to withstand internal and external challenges, maintain solvency, remain attractive to investors, and ensure sustainable economic growth and development. It is noted that traditional methodologies, based predominantly on ratio analysis, fail to account for industry-specific features, qualitative factors, and the dynamic nature of the external environment, which significantly limits their effectiveness in conditions of economic instability. Materials and methods. The research is based on a comprehensive analytical approach that combines tools of economic modelling, financial analysis, and strategic management to enhance the methodology for assessing enterprise financial stability. The material for analysis includes academic approaches presented in both Ukrainian and international literature, which explore the concepts, methods, and practical tools for evaluating financial stability in a dynamic business environment. The study addresses several key objectives: conducting a critical review of existing assessment methodologies, identifying their analytical limitations and strengths, and developing an improved model that considers the variability of financial indicators, industry specifics, strategic development potential, and risk-oriented management aspects. The methodological foundation of the study incorporates a range of general scientific and specialised methods, including analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, systems approach, and integrated evaluation techniques. These methods ensure logical consistency, enable result generalisation, and support the development of an adaptive analytical framework for practical application. Results and discussion. A comprehensive review of scientific approaches to evaluating financial stability has led to the systematization of the advantages and shortcomings of traditional, resource-management, stochastic, and fuzzy models. An integrated model for assessing financial stability is proposed, encompassing three levels of influence: the macro level (geopolitics, inflation, currency stability), the meso- level (industry-specific risks, access to financing), and the micro level (liquidity, profitability, capitalisation, asset turnover). Each level is represented by an aggregated indicator, the weight of which is determined according to the degree of managerial controllability. The proposed approach ensures the flexibility and adaptability of the model, allowing for the modification of indicators and weighting coefficients in line with the analytical needs and expectations of stakeholders. This enables a shift from static analysis to a systemic assessment of financial stability, taking into account the dynamics, context, and development prospects of the enterprise. Conclusions. The study substantiates the need to revise traditional approaches to assessing enterprise financial stability, given their limited capacity to reflect industry-specific features, external dynamics, and qualitative factors. The proposed integrated model, based on a multi-level structure (macro-, meso-, and microlevels), enables a comprehensive assessment of financial stability by incorporating the degree of managerial controllability of influencing factors. It also provides the means to rank companies, identify zones of financial vulnerability, and formulate timely anti-crisis measures. The model’s high adaptability makes it suitable for reflecting enterprise-specific characteristics and stakeholder information needs, positioning it as an effective tool for financial management and strategic planning in the corporate sector.
