THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL BASIS OF THE FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE INFORMATION ECONOMY

Анотація

It has been proven that at the end of the 20th century approaches to understanding the concepts of «information», «information resources» and their socio-economic significance are changing. This is related to the process of formation of the information economy. In the modern scientific paradigm, the issues of the terminology of the information economy are becoming decisive. The article considers approaches to defining the information economy as a new type of economic system. The theoretical and methodological content of this category is studied and its main characteristics are singled out. In addition, it has been proven that the course of socio-economic processes is influenced by information, knowledge, and innovations. Approaches to defining the essence ofthe category «information» and «information resources» are considered. The existing classifications of information and information resources have been studied. It is noted that information and information resources are a system-forming factor of life support of any socio-economic system. The article substantiates the importance of innovation and considers different views on the concept of «innovation» by foreign and domestic scientists.
