Features development of small and of medium business in Ukraine’s marine transport industry

Анотація

The purpose of the article is to determine the peculiarities of development of small and medium business in the field of maritime transport of Ukraine. The research was conducted using methods: comparison, analysis, synthesis, abstraction, generalization, system approach. The author identifies features of development of small and medium business in the field of maritime transport of Ukraine. The maritime transport complex is a multifunctional structure that meets the needs of the national economy in transport security, facilitates the development of international trade and fulfills Ukraine's obligations as a maritime state. Water transport served at seaports is the cheapest and relatively environmentally friendly compared to other modes of transport, making it competitive domestically for domestic and international trade. Seaports are an integral part of the state's transport and production infrastructure, given their location on the routes of international transport corridors. The competitiveness of the domestic transport complex on the world market depends on the efficiency of functioning of the seaports, the level of their technological and technical equipment, compliance of the system of management and development of infrastructure with modern international requirements. It is noted that the maritime transport system of Ukraine does not have sufficient reserves of production capacities and is not ready to fully provide the prospective volumes of cargo and passenger transportation, including those passing through Ukraine. Based on the analysis, the author outlines the main directions and steps to improve and create a comfortable climate for investing in the Ukrainian port industry. Practical importance is that the main provisions and conclusions can be used in the preparation of training and methodological manuals in the course in the field of business, as well as in the improvement of legislation aimed at the development of the port industry in Ukraine.
