The article is devoted to the study of the problem of determining the legal status of results created by artificial intelligence. Existing approaches to recognizing AI as an author or tool are analyzed, and the prospects for implementing special protection regimes are considered. The conclusion is made about the need to adapt national legislation to the challenges of the digital age
