RESEARCH ON THE POTENTIAL OF BILATERAL TRADE AND INVESTMENT BETWEEN CHINA AND UKRAINE
Анотація
China is Ukraine's largest export market and also its largest source of goods. The goods exported by Ukraine to China are mainly primary products, while the goods imported by Ukraine from China are mainly industrial products. In the research on trade and investment between China and Ukraine, relevant measurement indicators are mainly used to discover the problems existing in bilateral trade. The main problems in the current process of economic cooperation and development between China and Ukraine are the small scale of trade, the lack of balance in bilateral trade, and the need for structural adjustments in trade between the two countries. China and Ukraine have maintained good economic and trade relations, but there are also some factors that hinder development. There is still great room and potential for improvement in the trade relationship between the two countries. Based on the actual situation of this study, the main methods used are time-varying stochastic frontier gravity model and trade inefficiency model to analyze the factors that affect China and Ukraine in the process of trade, and then to understand the development trend of bilateral trade between the two countries. The factors that can have a strong impact on the economic cooperation and development between China and Ukraine include the per capita GDP, geographical distance, bilateral free trade agreement, Ukraine's infrastructure level and trade costs. The per capita GDP of China and Ukraine, bilateral free trade agreements and Ukraine's infrastructure level have significantly promoted bilateral trade. The amount of Chinese population, the geographical distance between China and Ukraine and the cost of bilateral trade have the opposite impact. The calculation of trade potential shows that China's export efficiency to Ukraine is relatively high, but the space for expanding trade potential needs to be expanded. The efficiency of Ukraine's exports to China is greatly affected by human factors, and there is great potential for expanding its exports to China.
