Interaction of a relocated higher education institution and the host community: experience, challenges, and prospects

Анотація

The article identifies the features, challenges, mechanisms and prospects of interaction between a relocated higher education institution and the host community using the experience of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”. It is emphasized that in the conditions of a full-scale Russian invasion, a kind of mobilization model of the education system was formed in the relevant higher education institution during 2022– 2025, which is based on the mechanisms of activity under martial law, which were developed back in 2014 in connection with the Russian aggression in East of Ukraine, as well as new promising directions for the development of interaction between a relocated higher education institution and the host community. It is noted that such a system is characterized by flexibility and a high level of self-organization, capable of quickly responding to external and internal challenges in situations of uncertainty. It is emphasized that the application of established and new mechanisms by the relocated higher education institution contributes to positive socio-cultural and economic changes in the host communities and to the reduction of youth migration processes. It is noted that the presented mobilization model of the educational system helps the higher education institution to create a personal network of useful and promising contacts, provides support, restoration and stabilization in the conditions of displacement. It is also noted that the university development strategy takes into account changes in the education system aimed at improving the quality of educational services and its competitiveness in the new socio-cultural context, determines the prospects for the development and interaction of the university with various social institutions of the community in the conditions of martial law and post-war reconstruction.
